The union of Lawrence Allen and Margie Ann Busby Allen birthed a rich lineage of children: Orie, John, Lawrence Jr., Parish, Annie Lee, Bessie, Jefferson, Alford, MaryAnn, and Lillian.
Our roots run deep in Jasper County, South Carolina, and the communities of Gillisonville, Coosawhatchie, Grays, Ridgeland, and parts of Hampton County. These places hold the memories and milestones that shaped generations of Allens and Busbys. In addition, we are blessed with many extended family members who branch out from Lawrence and the siblings of Lawrence and Margie Ann, creating a strong and vibrant family heritage.
The Allen Busby Family Reunion was established in the early 1970s by Smithie “Lee” Jenkins (daughter of John), who honored her grandparents by creating a lasting legacy through family gatherings. What began as a small gathering in her yard in Gillisonville, has grown into a vibrant celebration of heritage, love, and unity.
Today, the Allen Busby Family Reunion continues to thrive as we celebrate our shared history and the strong bonds that connect us. We gather not only to remember where we came from but to ensure that future generations carry forward the spirit of family, resilience, and joy.
Welcome to our family. Welcome to our story.
